Canada | Immigration | Labour Market testing exempted positions: Newfoundland and Labrador

The government of Newfoundland and Labrador has updated the list of in-demand occupations that do not require labor market testing on December 03, 2020.

Occupations in Health care, Information and Communication Technology, and Technical specialists are considered for exemption.

In-demand occupations from health, ICT, and Technical specialists sectors are exempted from Job vacancy Assessment and Atlantic Immigration Program labor market testing requirements such as Advertising. The list is as follows

  1. Clinical Psychologist
  2. Dosimetrist
  3. Licensed Practice Nurse (LPN)
  4. Medical Physicist
  5. Nurse Practitioner (NP)
  6. Personal Care Attendant (PCA)
  7. Physician

Anesthesia; Family Medicine; General Internal Medicine; Neonatologists (NICU); Obstetrics and Gynecology; Pediatric Intensivists (PICU); Psychiatry; Pathology; Pathology (Hemopathology); Radiology

8. Radiation Therapist

Occupations In demand: ICT

Engineers and Developers

  1. .NET Developer
  2. AI Developer
  3. Biomedical Engineer
  4. Electrical Engineer
  5. Infrastructure Engineer
  6. Mechanical Engineer

Newfoundland and Labrador is one of the four Atlantic Provinces participating in the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP). The other three participating provinces in the pilot are New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island.

The province has recently announced New immigration Pathwayto attract immigrants to stay in the province. The new pathway Priority Skills Newfoundland and Labrador is, launching on January 2, 2021.
