Canada | PR Visa | Express Entry – CRS score falls to 464 in the second Express Entry draw conducted on April 9, 2020

The second Express Entry draw conducted on Thursday, 9th April, 2020, when 3,294 candidates were invited to apply for Canadian permanent residence under the Canadian Experience Class with a ranking score of 464 and above.

This unusual second draw on the same day witnessed the lowest minimum CRS score requirement after October 2019.

 

Before this draw today, Canada also invited 606 more applicants from the Express Entry Provincial Nominee Program to apply for permanent residency in Canada.

 

The Express Entry program is the primary source of qualified foreign workers in Canada.  Eligible applicants join the Express Entry pool and are given a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score based on their age, level of education, Professional experience and proficiency in English or French, along with other factors. Tie breaking rule applied for this draw is 4th January 2020 i.e. whoever have launched their profiles with 464 and above scores in express entry on or before this date and time stamp, were issued ITAs.

 

With the current draws Canada has issued 26,500 ITAs so far this year. IRCC continues to hold regular draws in spite of the fact that special steps to combat the Corona Virus(Covid-19) pandemic have been put in place.
