Canada | PR Visa | Express Entry – Express Entry candidates with PNP nominations received ITA’s in a recent draw.

Canada held a new Express Entry draw on June 24, inviting candidates who had previously been nominated by provinces. In this invitation round, a total of 392 Express Entry candidates were issued Invitations to Apply (ITAs).

Summary of the draw

Draw date: June 24, 2020.

Draw number: 153

Program: PNP

The Number of candidates invited: 392

Minimum score required: 696

Tie-breaking Rule:  before April 23, 2020, at 10:39:30 UTC (candidates who submitted their profiles before this time and date have received ITAs)

The number of Primary applicants invited this year so far: 46, 932

The Canadian government has conducted 15 draws in these two Programs and issued tens of thousands of Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for permanent residency in Canada.

The invited candidates had previously received provincial nominations and were awarded a further 600 points towards their overall score. This means the candidate would have had a CRS of 96 without the Provincial nomination.

The first step is to launch an Express Entry Profile to be considered for a provincial nomination via one of Canada's Express Entry-linked sources. To determine which Express Entry candidates would have a high likelihood of succeeding in the Canadian labor market, the CRS ranks human capital factors such as age, work experience, education and official language skills.

Canada has been conducting regular Express Entry draws aiming at provincial nominee applicants and Canadian Experience Class candidates after the government introduced new coronavirus steps restricting travel on March 18.

Currently immigration targets are on track to exceed the levels of last year. Given the travel restrictions, this year more ITAs were received than in the same time 2019.

Over the past 7 days alone, Canada's provinces have approached more than a thousand Express Entry applicants to apply for a provincial nomination.

These streams enable Canadian provinces and territories to select candidates within the federal Express Entry system that meet their individual labor market needs and nominate them for permanent residence in Canada.
