On 19 June 2020, Manitoba held its 92nd PNP draw. Manitoba has invited overseas immigration candidates as well as candidates inside Canada in its latest draw. In total, Manitoba has issued 181 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to candidates for immigration.
The LAAs invite applicants to apply for a provincial nomination for a permanent resident visa in Canada.
EOI System of Manitoba
Candidates for immigration must register an Expression of Interest (EOI) with the MPNP to receive a LAA through the categories of Skilled Workers in Manitoba and Skilled Workers overseas.
Candidates are ranked out of 1,000 points under Manitoba's EOI system for human capital characteristics such as their English or French language skills ability, education, work experience, connections with Manitoba province and other factors.
Other streams
The Manitoba Skilled Workers Overseas Category and Skilled Workers categories require the province to nominate skilled workers who can meet the labor-market needs of Manitoba.
Those overseas need an established link to Manitoba. This can be proved through close family ties or friends living in Manitoba, past provincial experience, or an invitation under one of the MPNP’s Strategic Recruitment Initiatives.
In order to be eligible, they need not be physically present in Manitoba at the time of application.
Qualified applicants in the Manitoba Skilled Workers group have to follow other requirements, such as getting a permanent full-time job offer from an employer in Manitoba.
Overseas students who graduated from a Manitoba educational institution may receive a LAA under the International Education Stream if they have in-demand skills
