On May 21, the province of Manitoba sent Letter of Advice to 99 applicants to Apply for immigration under its provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence. The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) has issued 2030 invitations so far this year including this draw. This is Manitoba’s 90th draw.
Applicants in the Skilled Workers in Manitoba, Skilled Workers Overseas and International Education streams received the invitations under MPNP.
The Distribution of Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) under each category are as follows:
Number of LAA’s under Skilled Workers in Manitoba: 72
Number of LAA’s under Skilled Workers Overseas: 15
Number of LAA’s under International Education Stream: 12
Express Entry
Nine of the LAAs given in May 21 draw went to candidates with a valid federal Express Entry profile.
Candidates eligible for the Express Entry pool are ranked based on a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score that takes human capital factors such as age, job experience, employment, and language skills into consideration.
Highest-scoring applicants are selected by frequent draws from the Express Entry pool to apply for Canadian permanent residency.
Another 600 CRS points are awarded additionally, to those who obtain a provincial nomination, and an Invitation to Apply (ITA) from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is essentially assured.
Skilled Workers in Manitoba
The Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream offers a pathway to permanent residency in the province for qualifying temporary foreign employees as well as international graduates of Manitoba’s post-secondary educational institutes.
To be eligible, applicants have to be employed in Manitoba and have, a full-time, permanent job offer from the Manitoba employer including other factors.
Invitations are given to candidates who have registered an Expression of Interest (EOI) with the MPNP to apply for a provincial nomination from Manitoba through ‘Skilled Workers in Manitoba’ stream.
An Expression of Interest (EOI) is an online profile that has 1000 points. The Points are awarded depending upon the candidate’s educational qualifications, job experience, connections with Manitoba and English or French proficiency and other factors. Skilled worker EOIs are given a score of 1000 and the highest-ranked candidates will be issued invitations
The lowest-ranking candidate had a score of 485 to be invited under Manitoba Skilled Workers stream in this draw.
Skilled Overseas Workers
Candidates chosen under the Skilled Workers Overseas Stream were directly invited through a Strategic Recruitment program, which may include MPNP-organized overseas recruitment missions, mostly in collaboration with Manitoba employers. Candidates require a score of 613 and above to be invited in the May 21 draw.
International Education
A total of 12 LAA’s were issued to candidates under this stream. Minimum score requirement was not provided in this draw.
International education stream includes three subcategories
· Career Employment Pathway
· Graduate Internship Pathway and
· The International Student Entrepreneur Pilot.
