On 7 May, Manitoba invited 123 applicants for immigration to apply for a provincial nomination.
The invitations were sent to the candidates under three streams of Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) and who had profiles in Manitoba’s Expression of Interest pool (EOI). Among the invited 14 candidates had Express Entry Profiles.
So far this year, the MPNP has released 1,931 LAAs. This is the 89th draw from Manitoba since the program opened in April 2014.
Express Entry Stream
14 Express Entry applicants received LAA’s under this stream in the May 7 MPNP draw for Provincial Nomination. Now they have the opportunity to raise their application to the top of the Express Entry list.
Candidates for the Express Entry are ranked using a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) Scores are measured in, based on human capital factors such as age, job experience, educational qualification and language proficiency in any of Canada's two official languages i.e. English or French.
Highest-scoring applicants are invited by frequent draws from the Express Entry pool to apply for Canadian permanent residency.
Candidates who obtained a Manitoba provincial nomination through Express Entry in this draw declared a valid Express Entry ID and issued a validation code for job seekers.
Manitoba’s EOI
Candidates need to register profiles in Expression of Interest System of Manitoba in order to be invited to apply for a provincial nomination from Manitoba under two streams of Manitoba namely skilled workers in Manitoba and Skilled Workers overseas. Manitoba’s EOI is an online application with a score of 1000. The candidates receive points based on their educational qualification, skilled work experience, connections with Manitoba and language proficiency.
Skilled Workers Overseas Stream
The candidates who had a score of 802 and above were issued LAA’s in the latest draw. A total of 14 candidates have been invited.
Candidates must demonstrate the connection to Manitoba such as close family or friends living in Manitoba. Prior study or work experience in Manitoba etc., among the other criteria. TO be eligible they no need to be in Manitoba at the time of filing the application
Skilled Workers in Manitoba
94 candidates were invited through this stream. Under a Strategic Recruitment Program, the candidates invited through the Skilled Workers Overseas Process were directly invited by the MPNP. Candidates invited under this stream had a score of 475 in the latest draw.
Among other requirements, applicants who are invited into the Manitoba Skilled Workers group must have a full-time, permanent employment offer from a Manitoba employer.
International Education stream.
For this draw, the MPNP sent 15 LAAs to candidates under this stream.
Under the International Education Stream, Manitoba graduates with particular in-demand skills can be invited.
