Canada invited 3,311 Express entry Candidates to apply through a program-specific draw held on 1st May, 2020. ITAs were given under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) for Express Entry candidates. The lowest-ranked candidate invited in this draw had a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 452.
This is the lowest CRS score requirement till date in 2020, whereas the April 16 CEC draw had a minimum CRS cut of 455, three points more than the current draw. The total number of invitations issued till date in 2020 is 34,300. The tie-breaking rule applied in this draw was October 10, 2019, at 19:15:28 UTC.
Earlier this week, another 589 ITAs were given to candidates selected for Express Entry through the Provincial Nominee System (PNP) with the minimum CRS score of 692. Express Entry candidates get an additional 600 points added to their CRS scores if they get Provincial Nomination.
IRCC has held 8 program-specific draws since travel restrictions were imposed on March 8, 2020 due to COVID-19 focusing on Canadian Experience class Candidates and PNP candidates. These two groups of applicants are likely to be in Canada than those entering through other Express entry streams, meaning that the new travel restrictions do not affect them.
Majority of draws were included candidates from all programs under the Express Entry before the pandemic. The last all-program draw took place on 4th March 2020. 3900 candidates with a minimum CRS score of 471 were issued invitations in that draw.
