132 candidates in Manitoba's Expression of Interest list, including seven Express Entry candidates, were invited to apply for a provincial nomination. Invitations issued to candidates under Skilled Workers Overseas (SWO), Skilled Workers in Manitoba (SWM), Career Employment Pathway (International Education Stream) and Graduate Internship Pathway (International Education Stream) streams on April 23.
Seven candidates with a clear profile in the Express Entry Pool among the LAAs issued on April 23 draw. Applicants who qualify for the Express Entry pool are rated on the basis of a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score that considers human capital factors such as age, work experience, education, language skills and other factors. The top-ranked candidates are invited to apply.
An additional 600 points added to CRS scores for those who receive a provincial nomination and they obviously are invited by IRCC in the next draw.
Skilled Workers in Manitoba
The number of candidates who received LAA’s is 93. This is the pathway to permanent residence for the temporary foreign workers in the province and international graduates of post-secondary schools in Manitoba. Candidates must be working in Manitoba and should have a full-time permanent employment offer from their employer.
The lowest rank candidate who was issued LAA had a score of 489 out of 1000.
Skilled Workers Overseas
The number of candidates received LAA’s under this stream are 25. Candidates under Skilled Workers Overseas (SWO) were invited through the Strategic Recruitment Program. Minimum score needed to get invited in this was 714.
Graduates of Manitoba with certain in-demand skills can be eligible to participate in the International Education System.
This stream consists of three sub-categories: the Career Employment Pathway, the Graduate Internship Pathway and the International Student Entrepreneur Pilot.
In this draw, the MPNP sent 14 LAAs to the candidates of the International Education stream. The minimum score required under this stream is not provided.
