Canada | PR Visa | Express Entry – The most recent Express Entry draw in Canada has the lowest CRS of 2020.

Two Express Entry draws held consecutively on two days.  On 16th April, a total of 3,782 immigration applicants and their families have been invited to apply for permanent residency in Canada.

Invitations to apply (ITAs) for Canadian permanent residence was sent on April 16, 2020, to members of the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) system with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score as low as 455. It is plausible that Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is targeting CEC applicants because they are likely to be present in Canada, given the current limitations due to COVID-19 pandemic.

This draw follows the 118 ITAs already issued previous day to candidates for the Provincial Nominee System (PNP), taking the total number of ITAs issued in the last two days to 3,900.

This draw is fourth, to target solely Canadian Experience Class (CEC) members from Express Entry. To date, Canada has released 30,400 ITAs in 2020. 85,300 ITA’s were issued through Express Entry in 2019.

Through the 2020-2022 Immigration levels Plan, the Government of Canada is expecting 341,000 immigrants by the end of 2020, 351,000 in 2021, and another 361,000 in 2022. Admissions to the PNP are expected to increase by 20% by 2022. IRCC expects to offer more regular and larger draws in the coming weeks and months.
